Alex John Beck Recreation

Alex John Beck is a portrait photographer who flips the faces of his subjects to show how even though you may think it, you face is not symmetrical. 

This is my recreation of his work. A high key portrait with low contrast equally flipped down the center.

Photographer research {Frank Uyttenhove}

Frank Uyttenhove's work is a brilliant example of the benefits using light room and Photoshop. This style of photography is widely used in graphic design and advertising because of its controversy and meaning put into an image. 

Cleary franks work is run through Photoshop, and like the image bellow the pictures carry significant meanings behind them.

This image could suggest how the search for clean energy is from off land wind farms. The colour and editing is perfect to persuade an audience by characteristics used. The colour is mainly greens and blues, both very 'neutral' and 'clean' colours.   

The comparison between the vibrant curtain against the dull grey walls really draws your eyes to her, making you question what is happening. To achieve this, you would run the image through Photoshop, quick-masking the chosen area. Then you can access the vibrance, contrast, and lighting, changing it to whatever suits you.

Photographer research {Erik Almas}

Erik Almas' work is very interesting as it shows so much. The hole landscape is crisp and in focus, leaving you to devourer the hole image. This makes for stunning landscape photography. Much or his work is blasted through Photoshop but only benefits the fact that he is an amazing photographer. 

The strength of this image was manipulated and created in Photoshop. contrast and colour can be edited by adding shades or green, suggesting power, stress, unease, and cold.

Keeping the sharpness of the image through Photoshop can be hard. Every spec and colour explodes its way out of each surface. Most likely, Erik had manipulate the colour setting to really draw as much colours as he can, without making the image bright and vibrant, keeping it cold, like the subject.

Erik's work has allmost a cinematic approach to it. Like a well filmed movie, the scenery looks allmost unreal, carrying this strength in colour, forcing different moods on the viewer.

Cyanotype re-creation {photoshop}

-Liquid Emulsion-

This image was crated using a combination of digital and real world materials. To do so, a process of painting was required. smeared on white paper, a black canvas was created to scan in. Next i had collected a variety of images to choose from and found this image from a past shoot. It consisted of a harbor view from a stormy evening and thought it would work well.

The next step would be to overlap the two images in Photoshop, using a blending mode i could adjust the settings to match the black paint, giving the effect and digital recreation of a cyanotype image.

This is my recreation of a Starn brothers piece. Produced on Photoshop. to make this, i first exposed a sheet of photo paper in sun light, developed it and folded it up. Next i had scratched up the folds to make it seem warn and used, 'possibly carried around of some time'. this was then scanned and run through Photoshop and overlapped by an image of a friend walking down a beach. with a few touch ups in Photoshop, it began to look like an old exposure.
